Many years ago, a nomadic people settled in this area with their herds of cattle. The nomads have gone but some of their cattle escaped and now roam the countryside. This map comes with a unique building, the Cattle Herd, which allows you to milk the wild cattle and provide food for your people.

Karabulak is a semi-arid land of plateaus and broad terraced lowlands. Water is precious and only a few scattered trees grow in the lowlands. You will need to plant many trees from the beginning of the game to provide enough wood for your settlement.

Tips

  • The cows only begin giving milk a few days after the game starts, so your herders may not find any for the first few days.
  • Start planting trees at the beginning of the game since the starting territories don't have many trees.
  • The wild cattle prefer to live in the shade of the scattered trees, but they will wander around the map. If you want to keep them out of your settlement, build fences.

How did you get the cattle on the map? I am wanting all the animals now, on all the maps.

When you create maps you can create a black & white image file that will put different resources on the map, for example berries, trees, and in this case cattle. You can use the same type of method to add any resource. Take a look at the files in the mod and you'll see how it's done.

The cow resource is already built into the game for the dairy farms, so you don't need to model anything new.
