village_mod2.1.PNG

Currently in Alpha phase. All textures are subject to change, as well as models. If you have any feedback, please either tag me in a post in the #modding_general area on Discord, or dm me privately: Skkkitzo#3692

Welcome to the Village Additions mod! I hope to bring about a variety of new and interesting buildings and features to the game, as the current variety is slightly lacking (we still love you devs). In future updates I will introduce greater chain productions, including beef, pork, furniture, and more! If you have any questions or feedback, give us a shout on Discord.

Installation:

As with every other mod, you have 2 options. You can either download and install manually or the easier route of installing via the in-game interface. I recommend using the in-game interface, as this is less hassle.

Automatic Install (recommended):

  1. Load up Foundation.
  2. Click the "Mods" menu.
  3. Click the "Browse Mods" tab to the right.
  4. Find my mod using the search function (make sure to spell it right).
  5. Click "Install".
  6. If creating a new game using my mod, you must click the dropdown bar at the bottom of the "New Game" menu. Select "Village Additions Mod". Select "Add". Then you can press "Start Game"
  7. If loading an existing savegame that hasn't used this mod before, click on your savegame but DO NOT click Load. Click "Edit Mods". Select "Village Additions Mod" from the dropdown bar, click Add. Now you may load up your game.

Manual Install:

  1. Download latest version of Village Additions mod
  2. Extract .ZIP file and copy extracted folder to Steam -> steamapps -> common -> Foundation -> mods.
  3. Inside your mods folder, you should create a new folder for every mod you install. Inside these folders should be the files. It is vitally important that you get the structure right, otherwise the game will not recognise your mod installation.
  4. If creating a new game using my mod, you must click the dropdown bar at the bottom of the "New Game" menu. Select "Village Additions Mod". Select "Add". Then you can press "Start Game"
  5. If loading an existing savegame that hasn't used this mod before, click on your savegame but DO NOT click Load. Click "Edit Mods". Select "Village Additions Mod" from the dropdown bar, click Add. Now you may load up your game.

The decorative pieces, such as the plaza/square, the wagon, and the crates are greyed out. The tooltip says they are invalid and need to be updated to the new PartSet system. The village buildings work fine.

Thank you for your feedback. Could you try the version 1.1.3 please ?

Not sure if you know, but this mod crashes the game with the latest preview, it does for me anyway.

My market is full of beef. But no one buy it?

vjraymon
vjraymon @vjraymon

there are priorities on the markets: the villagers buy the first food. If empty, they buy the second...

So how does one gather herbs?

Using a monastery.

Not sure if/what I am doing wrong but for some reason my people won't stock meat at the market?

Do you have an excess of beef in your slaughter house? If so, maybe your market tenders are busy with stock piling other resources? Maybe try building a warehouse near to the slaughter house and setting beef to be stored there - that may fix it.

I feel like the Slaughterhouse ought to be called a Butchery. Shambles/Abbetoirs/Slaughterhouses weren't really a thing until far later in history than the game is set around. Love the mod so far besides - just a thought :)

Good idea. I will change it :) I was going to change it to something else in the future anyway because I intend on introducing new "production chains" involving pork and chicken.

This is an awesome mod, but gold into potion? Why not herbs to potion? :O

Good suggestion, I might add it. :) It's currently gold because I couldn't think of anything else, and in future updates I will add more resources. Thanks for downloading, and don't forget to share with your friends!

Oooh! glad to have helped :D I'll show my one friend that plays Foundation :)
Where do I sell potions and arrows btw?

Edit- Is there a way to make the cattle farm spawn animals, even if it's just sheep to begin with?

lachie07
lachie07 @lachie07

Currently there is no way to sell potions and arrows in this version, although there will be a function for these resources coming very soon. It's important to remember that this mod is in Alpha stage and there are a lot of features coming soon!

As with the spawning of cows, unfortunately we cannot do that with the resources the developers have given modders. We cannot create a building like that of the sheep farm which spawns animals - I have tried and that would be ideal. As soon as that functionality is in my grasp, I shall do it. :)
